Description of Incident: | David was on a prestage deadhead from Pullman to Spokane. He stopped in Lacrosse to eat and pick up his clothes at his home. When he parked the bus and got out he noticed a strong electrical burning smell. He walked around the coach and found an electrical box smoking near the driver side duals. He used a fire extinguisher to put the electrical fire out. There were no flames or anything beyond the box which was damaged by heat. |
Action Taken | Fire was put out with an extinguisher and the battery was turned off. Dave has been monitoring the coach awaiting the rescue coach and there appears to be no further heat/fire issues. Keys for the bus are in the battery door. No attempt will be made to turn the battery, nor start or move the coach. |
Action Still Required and by Whom: | Coach will need to be inspected before we can make a decision on how to move it. Vaughn Warren is driving through Lacrosse on Friday and will stop and look at the coach. He is passing through on vacation. |
